2016 Newcomers Meet @ Green Valley HS

This meet is open to all first year track & field athletes regardless of grade.  The purpose of this meet is for all first year athletes to get their first track meet experience and get their first mark of the season.  There will be no entry fee or awards for this meet. 

Friday, March 11^th, starting @ 3:30pm Field and 4:00 Running

Standard order of events per NIAA guidelines, boys then girls in 2016.  All events will be contested, except 4x100 and 4x200 relays. Unlimited entries per school with a maximum of 4 events per athlete.  Please upload entries onto athletic.net by 6pm on Wednesday, March 9^th.  Changes can be made to heat sheets at the timing tent upon arrival.

Lane races will NOT be seeded.  All athletes will be given bib numbers.  They will report to the start line, get their hip numbers and run. Bib numbers/times will be recorded at the finish line.  The attempt is to get full sections with no empty lanes. Distance races and field events will be randonly seeded.  Distance athletes will report to the Clerk to get section/lane assignments. Field event athletes will report to the event.

To help new hurdlers, highs specifically, Girls hurdles in both the HH and IH will be 30”, Boys will be 36”.

We will need your help at the Clerk.  Please print heat sheets (they will be e-mailed to you). Athletes will check in “earlier sections at the front of the line”. Coaches need to inform their athletes as to which section they are running and place them in line accordingly

• 3/16” spikes or smaller only
• Seeding will be random
• 3 attempts in throws and horizontal jumps
• LJ and TJ will be open pit – 90 minutes each
• HJ bar opening at 4’ for girls and 5’ for boys
• Pole Vault:  open at 5'6" and we will run the boys & girls together, moving the bar up 6" at a time.
  • No tape or chalk on runways or track please
  • Garbage bags will be available, help keep your team camp clean
  • Warm-up on the infield, competing athletes and coaches only
  • This meet will be FAT timed by NTS-Timing and all results will be uploaded to athletic.net and Runnerspace.com/NV at the end of the evening
